I am extremely grateful and full of thanks for the opportunity to be a mom to my little guy and the extra caring special adult for my two big boys. This holiday weekend gave me the opportunity to reflect on what I am grateful for.

I have been blessed with the opportunity to stay at home with my boys while helping other parents enhance and embrace the parent they want to be.

I have been thinking that “Stay at Home Mom” is very misleading. It makes it sound so nice. From the title, one can draw the conclusion that I get to stay home, get my chores done, have tons of time for myself. You can stop laughing now. Don’t get me wrong, I am grateful that I have a job that allows me to care for my son and step-sons, but I am rarely home.

I feel like my title should be “extra awesome, gets the job done, cares for the kids, husband, and home, while not going crazy (some of the time) mom.”

There are so many mixed messages being stated and reinforced by media, parents, and professionals.  I would truly like to see a society where we accept people for the parenting choices they make without judgment as long as their child is loved, cared for and all their needs are met.

I truly believe that everyone should be given the opportunity to be the parent they want to be and to feel proud of the parent they are.

Accept the choices others make while parenting the way you choose.

Happy Thanksgiving from a VERY thankful mom!
